Reiki

Reiki is a relaxation practice of Japanese origin, based on the notion of life energy, "ki". According to this tradition, accumulated tension is thought to hinder its circulation and encourage stress; without settling that question, which science does not validate, what is tangible in a session remains concrete: a state of deep relaxation that helps release the nervous system. Through a light touch on the clothed body, Laura Meijere welcomes you for private sessions in Geneva, at the Centre Aliotis, and in Zurich. Reiki supports your wellbeing, as a complement to and not a replacement for medical care.

Frequently asked questions about Reiki sessions
How does a Reiki session work?
You lie down, clothed, in a calm environment. The practitioner gently places their hands on different areas of the body to transmit life energy. The treatment lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
Does Reiki replace medical treatment?
No. Reiki is a complementary practice. It does not replace medical treatment, but can support it, particularly in cases of stress, fatigue, pain or emotional imbalance.
Do I have to believe in something for it to work?
No. Reiki rests on no particular belief. It is enough to stay open to the experience and to what your body needs to go through during the session.
Will I feel anything during the session?
Everyone is different. You may feel warmth, tingling, images, emotions, or simply deep relaxation. Sometimes the effects appear after the session.
How many sessions are needed to feel the benefits?
Some people feel immediate relief from the very first session. For a lasting effect, a short cycle of 3 to 4 spaced-out sessions is often recommended.
